Hello NuSocia Patrons,
Welcome to the October edition of the Impact Post, where we cover trends, innovations and stories to keep you informed and updated on all things impact.
This month we focus on the Power of Collaboration. Large-scale social change requires shared purpose, cross-sector coordination and sustained commitment. We need to find more effective ways to collaborate and develop responses to social issues in close consultation with communities to enable shared knowledge, better outcomes and an empowered sense of progress that can be sustained for the future.
Read on to learn new methods, tools and ideas to improve your collaborative efforts, internally and externally!
COLLABORATION FOR GENDER SENSITIVE DESIGN
Did You Know?
>> Rural women - a quarter of the world’s population - work as farmers, wage earners, and entrepreneurs.
>> Less than 20% of landholders worldwide are women. In rural areas, the gender pay gap is as high as 40%.
>> Reducing the gap in labor force participation rates between men and women by 25% by the year 2025 could raise global GDP by 3.9%.
Rural women are key agents for achieving the transformational economic, environmental and social changes required for sustainable development. But limited access to credit, health care and education are among the many challenges they face, which are further aggravated by the global economic and health crises and climate change.
We recently collaborated with Dhriiti, GIZ and NASSCOM Foundation as part of the Script4Her Impact Week, where we talked to experts on futuristic and gender-responsive solutions for rural women entrepreneurs in India.

COLLABORATION IN ACTION
Effective collaboration can take many forms but the one key indicator that leads to results is a shared goal. When everyone knows what they are working for, with a clear vision in mind of what the project should achieve, everything else can fall into place.
With collaboration and continuous learning being core principles at NuSocia, we believe #NuSociaDiaries is a vehicle that enables a unique view of our collaborations and learnings on the ground.
Get a closer look at some of the markers of successful collaboration and what it takes to build and maintain a collaborative culture in your projects!
