Dear Friends,
Hope you are doing well and staying safe.
May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and it's also a worthy reminder that prioritizing our mental health is a 365-day affair. It's been a challenging year for mental health. The pandemic has been difficult for so many, and it's completely reshaped the way many of us view, manage, and maintain our emotional balance. A small silver lining in these difficult times is that we are far more comfortable discussing and prioritizing mental health than ever before.
Fred Rogers, creator of the famed children's educational series 'Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood' once said - "Anything that's human is mentionable, and anything that is mentionable can be more manageable. When we can talk about our feelings, they become less overwhelming, less upsetting, and less scary. The people we trust with that important talk can help us know that we are not alone.”
While there's no one-size-fits-all approach to caring about one's mental health, we at NuSocia have dedicated this newsletter to support each other in our mental health journeys. With this in mind, we have curated reading material and tools that we hope will help you cope with these stressful times better.
